The wine takes its name from the Italian dessert affogato: vanilla ice cream topped with a shot of espresso. That’s because, in addition to its layers of dark fruit, there are also hints of freshly brewed coffee and vanilla (thanks to French oak aging), plus a velvety, well-integrated finish.
