Seekat Bay’s coastal vineyards sit right next to the Atlantic, so the nights are cool and the days are moderate. The grapes ripen slowly in these temperatures, and winemaker Mauritius Coetzee-Naude uses the climate to his advantage - the team harvests the grapes during nightfall, using the coolness to preserve the Chenin Blanc’s quality and aroma. Judges at the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition were so impressed, they awarded it a silver medal.
Since the vineyards are located on the coast, Coetzee-Naude was inspired to craft a white wine that pairs perfectly with any seafood, especially the fresh catch of the day. But don’t worry - you can continue sipping on this Chenin Blanc long after dinner has ended. This expressive white brims with vibrant tropical-fruit flavors, citrus and notes of sweet honeysuckle.
