What makes his latest creation so special? The sandy soils of the Fernando Pó vineyard. Under these arid conditions, vines are forced to root deep into the ground in search of water and nutrients. This stresses the plant just enough so that fewer grapes burst forth; but what do grow are so small and supremely concentrated, they yield a weighty, luscious wine that’s packed with deep, dark fruit flavor. Four months in French and American oak barrels adds just the right amount of baking spice character to complete the delicious picture.
