Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Syrah, Malbec and Grenache. A diverse set of aromas present themselves—blueberry compote, maraschino cherries, brambly raspberry and a touch of licorice and tomato leaf. The palate is silky smooth, almost slippery, with bursting flavors of ripe strawberry, red plum, kirsch and graham cracker. Chalky tannins and a long-structured finish round out the wine.
Regions such as Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, and the Sierra Foothills contributed to the wine ultimately resulting in a balanced and imaginative homage to its brethren. The same formula of a simple idea, made complex with distinctive vineyards, and an element of fun is what this wine is all about.
