Medium ruby in color. The nose shows scents of ripe cherry and raspberry fruit, dates, stony mineral, and subtle herbal notes. Medium bodied, soft, with good acidity, the tough grippy tannins moderate with some air. Flavors of candied ripe cherry and raspberry, dates, and stony mineral.
Merlot comes from the Red Hen Vineyard, a warm site with a thin soil atop a cobble alluvial fan resulting in small berries and early ripening. The Cabernet Sauvignon is gown in the Meadowbrook Vineyard with intense afternoon sunlight and air currents coming off of Mt. Veeder providing the acidity and tannin to the wine. The
