The 2022 Cape Blend Kadette, which comes from purchased fruit from around 20 growers, has a tiny percentage of Petit Verdot from new plantings. The 2022 matured for 12 months in older oak barrels. It has a bright nose with red plum and minty aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, nicely balanced with a dash of black pepper on the finish. Give it six months to a year in bottle.
